“I hear…I forget, I see…I remember, I do…I learn and understand.”
Confucious

Teaching is a very complicated process. Every day you are working with different personalities, cultures and expectations. TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT is even more complicated. Learning is something we do, personally. We can’t demand it; we can’t ensure it.

Marcel Proust said, “We don’t receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.” Every human activity demands that choices be made. With the help of Support 4 Teachers consultants and advisors, TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT gives educators an opportunity to make choices and claim their own wisdom.

TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT at its best provides staff with a safe environment in which risk taking is rewarded, not punished. It is in the process of taking risks that learning occurs. We must allow our educators the luxury to being wrong, and then making changes to be right. Excellent TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT is actually a practice and failure and success. Teachers can take several different points of view, test them out, and choose their best fit.

We offer many workshops, coaching, and multi-day program institutes which supports TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT at all grade levels and for all roles. The common factor is concentrating on reducing or eliminating seriously challenging behavior problems or increasing alternative socially appropriate student behavior. We provide a multi-element approach to this process; teaching new skills to teachers and facilitate their ability to identify the control they have to make changes to contexts and environments that support the challenging behavior problems occurrence.  Too often teachers give their power away, expecting youngsters to be removed from the settings rather than reclaiming their ability to make a difference themselves. They regard the situation as outside of their control. This leads to feelings of hopelessness and failure. This is the most common point listed when young teachers indicate why they choose to leave the field of education.

Our main objective is to provide TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT that supports teachers in such a way they are able to feel competent and confident in their abilities and success in the classroom.
