Terri Chiara Johnston, Ph.D.

A graduate of Kent State University , Terri has worked with challenging students for more than thirty years. She has extensive training in applied behavior analysis, structured teaching (TEACCH), and crisis management.  Terri was a teacher, school psychologist and program director/principal prior to retiring from the public schools in 2005. As a recognized expert in the area of autism and emotional disturbance, she currently concentrates on developing her private practice as an educational consultant and Professional Clinical Counselor. In her role as adjunct faculty for Ashland University , Terri is excited to explore the possibilities of web-based consultation and training opportunities for teachers across the country.

 

Sandra L. Haltrich

Support 4 Teachers is honored to have a professional like Sandy Haltrich as a regular consultant and trainer. Her classroom experience ranges from head preschool teacher, lead teacher in a day treatment facility serving children with the problems associated with autism and severe behavior challenges, to a behavior consultant providing classroom demonstrations, modeling strategies and interventions so that teachers are able to develop new skills quickly and efficiently. Sandy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kent State University. She has completed multiple trainings designed to improve her skills working with youngsters on the Autism Spectrum including the third level TEACCH through the University of North Carolina. In addition, Sandy’s has participated in literacy programs, implementing a Motor Development Program, Pet Therapy, creation of preschool programs serving 18 month to three year olds, designing ASD units in two Ohio school districts and EEH Validation in Early Education of Handicapped Children. Consistently, teachers rate Sandy as the most supportive and helpful consultant and find her services to be unparalleled.

James M. Jones M.Ed.

Jim is a graduate of Kent State University and he has worked with behaviorally challenged students for over forty years. He has had extensive training teachers in classroom management, group process, and diagnostic interview techniques. Jim is currently a school psychologist in Clark County ( Las Vegas ) and is serving as a positive behavior support coach. He has been a teacher, a school psychologist and a program director prior to retiring from the Ohio Public School system. Jim has provided consultation services to school districts in the states of North Dakota , Idaho , Florida , and Ohio . He has made presentations at four national conferences and several state conferences on strategies for troubled students.
